  • Who can get a card?

    Library cards are available to anyone living in the City of Umatilla or in Plymouth, Washington. With a library card, patrons can access a wide range of materials, services, and digital resources—all at no cost.

  • What do I need to get a library card?

    You will need 2 forms of identification.

    1. ID or Driver's License
    2. A piece of mail addressed to you. This could be a utility bill or car registration.

  • How much does a library card cost?

    Library cards are free for Umatilla residents and also available to residents of Plymouth, Washington. A library card gives you access to books, digital resources, and more—and it's valid for 3 years!

  • Is digital proof allowed?

    Yes, as long as it has your name and your current address.

  • What are the Borrowing Limits?

    There is a 50-item limit, 5 of which can be movies.

  • Can I place items on hold?

    Yes! Library cardholders can place up to 9 items on hold at a time from any library in the Sage system. Holds can be managed online through your library account, allowing you to search for and request materials from anywhere. Of course, we’re always happy to help you place holds in person at the library as well.

  • How long do items check out for?

    Books and audiobooks check out for 3 weeks and DVD's check out for 1 week.

  • What are your hours of operation?

    We are open Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and Saturdays 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

  • Can I renew by borrowed items?

    Most library items check out for three weeks and can be renewed twice, as long as no one else is waiting for them. DVDs check out for one week and may also be renewed twice. You can renew items online through your account, by calling us, or by visiting the library in person.

  • What are the fines for overdue Library items?

    As of 2023, our library is proudly fine-free! That means we no longer charge late fees for overdue items. We want to make borrowing as easy and welcoming as possible for everyone in our community.
